The Cougars narrowly defeated Rossville, 57-63, to win their own invitational. Brian Hazel was the top Carroll runner, finishing third while Peter Woodruff was seventh.
Tony Martin claimed the individual championship as he helped lead Eastern to third place while Wesern was fourth. Michael Marley was fifth for the Panthers. Jake Ritchie came away ninth for Tri-Central
"The boys approached this as a a middle of the week training session. The key for our boys right now is that we work hard," Neer said.
Girls
Western was the runaway winner, socring 38 points to Winamac's 70. It was teh Panthers' third straight victory in the event. Annina Gruber claimed the individual title with Anna Hurlock taking third for Western. The host Cougars were third with 80. Kelsey Kennedy and Courtney Rinehart led Carroll with a 7-8 finish. Addie Rayl claimed fifth for Tri-Central and Emily Rethlake was Eastern's top finisher in 17th.
"The girls have been working and focusing on pacign and visualizzing where each of them are in th erace. They came out of it with a positive experience," Western coach Dana Neer said.
